Wenger: Beckham can “win Arsenal deal”

A slightly cheeky remark from the Metro today as they claim that Arsene Wenger reveals that David Beckham may be returning to the Premier League….”if he can still cut it at the top level”.

At no point in the story do they quote Wenger as actually saying that, instead Wenger has heaped nothing but praise on Beck’s work ethic and potential positive influence and experience he could bring to the Gunner’s young side.

Here are the quotes:

‘He’s a fantastic example, that’s one of the reasons I take him here,’ said Wenger.

‘He always has a good word for everyone. The young English players especially look at him and take his advice on board.

‘He has done the maximum in his career that you can do. Why? Because he loves football. He arrives before training and, after training, he stays and plays.’

I do hate misleading headlines….

Anywho, Beckham left LA Galaxy where he proved he’s still got it in America and is now living back in London, so he’s been training with Arsenal (and not for the first time) to keep his fitness up, however he is free to sign to any club that will have him.
